He was born in Higashiyama Ootani in Kyoto in 1415. His father was the seventh Enken Shounin of Honganji-temple. He became the eighth master of Honganji-temple in 1457. He was the restorer who traveled around the various regions to revive Isshuu Sect. He was deigned the priest name of Keitou Taishi by the Emperor Meiji.
