He is the deity of the Polestar belonging to the ten(deva) group; protects the nation and has virtue to eliminate distresses. There are two opinions about his principal image, one is Kannon, the other is Yakushi. Also there is an opinion that he is identified with Kisshou Ten. He has two forms, one appearing in Bosatsu, the other in tennyo(celestial nymph)riding a cloud.
