Monkey [Saru]

There is a monkey sculpture worshipping oranges, which expresses his strong belief to Buddha. There is a custom in Koushin belief that the believers worship Kongou with a blue countenance and hung a sacrificed monkey. Mizaru (not see), Iwazaru(not tell), Kikazaru(not hear) in Nikko Tosho-gu are famous. (zaru has both meaning of "monkey" and "not" in Japanese)
