Some say he became the god of wealth and virtue as "Ookuni nushi no Mikkoto" when he came to Japan because of the same pronunciation(Ookuni can be pronounced Daikoku in Japanese). The fete day for him is a day of Kinoe(mouse). He is standing on bales of rice, carrying a large sack of treasure slung over his shoulder and holding a small magic mallet and wearing a hood on his head.
